And a new day has begun!

This exquisite old home has seen many footsteps

Whilst the world was still reeling from the covid epidemic we were feverishly working to get our property ready to open before Christmas.  This exquisite old home has seen many footsteps and folk passing through her doors’, but we had decided to completely remodel and rehash her wardrobe.

This exquisite old home has seen many footsteps

At one stage when doors and windows had been removed, cement and plaster were lying across the lawns and walls were being ripped from the foundations, we wondered if this exquisite old home has seen many footsteps.  However, as the new walls slowly turned to hues of grey, mushroom, and gold and walls and windows appeared in gaping voids the home started to take on a life of its own.  The rich texture of parquet flooring appeared after sanding took off years of grime and modern chic bathrooms appeared where previously stained tired tiles had chipped off the walls.

Slowly the old made way for the new

It was time to finally dress her in her new outfits.  Each room had been named after a person, event, or bird relevant to the area and so the sparkling new furniture began to fill up the empty spaces. Big beds were decked in plush white linen and spruced with bright scatter cushions and tasteful throws.  Delicate coffee tables nestled between casual chairs and fridges, microwaves, and air conditioners were fitted in each room.

Outside began to wake up.

The gardens turned green and vast park-like lawns were mowed and prepped for the guests. Flowers appeared from all corners and the trees became shady and cast tranquil shadows across the grass.

Rose petals in the honeymoon suite

The dining area was filled with high-class furniture in greys and golds and exquisite counters made of solid wood were installed. Finally with the last rose petals in the honeymoon suite and the last vases filled in the rooms the doors opened for business.

And then finally the guests began to arrive

we were delighted with the gasps of amazement and happiness as each entered their rooms.  It has been such a labour of love and we are so looking forward to welcoming each person into our piece of paradise in the near future.
